“Dreaming of Amour” is my first collage painting on canvas. For years I have collected magazine clippings of places, dresses and phrases that I love. Likewise, I have collected a number of postcards from my travels that never quite made it into an album. Formerly collecting dust in a shoebox, these clippings and postcards now serve as perfect collage scrap materials. Below you will find a list of the clippings (paintings, locations, etc…) used in this painting:
§ Alphonse Mucha “Monte Carlo” postcard
§ Sundance Film Festival Pass
§ Camilla Belle & Mont St. Michel Magazine Clipping
§ Papaya Art from Papaya Calendar
§ Shakespeare Sonnet 116
§ Chocolove Chocolate Bar Wrapper
§ Ary Scheffer “Les Ombres de Francesca da Rimini et de Paolo Malatesta apparaissent a Dante et a Virgil” (1835) postcard
